There’s a moment in team development when you see the whole team show their colours, together. It’s a beautiful moment and a tipping point.
This isn’t at all about deception or hidden intentions as that idiom might suggest. It’s all about the team showing what they really stand for. It’s all about the team being the best versions of themselves individually and collectively in that moment. It’s all about the team being who and what they truly want to be, together.
Lots of hard work goes in to creating the environment for the whole team to show their colours together. Far from being the end of the journey, it is the starting point of something quite special. Far from being about a singular model of excellence, it is an array of many excellent attributes. Far from being about perfection, it is indeed brilliant.
I find it hugely rewarding to see such moments come in to being which is why I do the work I do…
It’s all about their people; collectively a team with a common purpose and ethos.
It’s all about their performance; the trust and understanding they have created.
It’s all about their potential; what they could now achieve.
What are you doing to help you and your team(s) show your colours, together?
